Hello,

is there a program that I need so my computer can correct spelling and
grammar in german. My computer speaks english

Microsoft distributes a German spell-checker and grammar-checker that works with
Microsoft Office, Works and Outlook Express (on Windows). See
http://www.microsoft.com/Office/multilingual/proofing.htm

Depending on the version of Office you are running, you may be able to download
German tools from the local Microsoft web site. The speller/grammar gets updated
in each version of Office. German proofing tools ship with German, French,
Italian and some other language versions of Office (but not with the English
version).

You can also either
a) buy German proofing tools for Office 97 from Alki software
http://proofing.com
b) purchase the Proofing Tools CD-ROM for Office 2000 from Microsoft or a local
distributor

The Office 2000 tools support the German spelling reforms, so if you have Office
97 it is probably worth upgrading just for that. The successor to Office 2000 is
becoming available - Office XP aka Office 2002.

If you are using a Macintosh and Mac Office look for a Mac Office Value Pack.
