I would like to see thumbnails of a number of templates either in "File, New,
My templates" or at least in "recent templates".

I have selected the "save thumbnail" option in the save as dialog and I have
checked the "preview" option in the Advanced properties dialog as well.

I can see thumbnails of the 2003-templates I have but no thumbnails from any
dotx or dotm files. Does this have something to do with the new file format?
Have anyone else seen this issue?

Can anyone tell me why Microsoft has "glamorized" the template dialog so
much without changing a thing about the "my templates" - it looks the same as
it has ever done. I can't understand why I have to plow through so many
advertized template options before reaching the "organisations"?

Would very much like to see samples of better solutions for reaching
templates than the File New dialog as it is served out-of-the-box.

Thanks in advance - especially for answering my initial question regarding
the thumbnails.

Add the "New Document or Template..." button to the QAT (it's in the
Commands Not in the Ribbon category).

Thanks, I have done that in a few cases but that doesn't answer my initial
question regarding the thumbnails. You don't happen to have an answer to that
as well?

Thanks in advance

If before saving a template, I click on the Office button and then on
Prepare and then access the Properties and then Advanced Properties for the
template and check the box on the Summary tab for "Save Thumbnails for All
Word Documents" when I use the File New dialog, a preview of that template
appears in the Preview section of the New dialog that appears by clicking
the button that was added to the QAT.
