You can even learn about Unicode and the values of the characters you will
use most often and another shortcut using Num Lock and Alt -
From Character Map help -
If you know the Unicode equivalent of the character you want to insert, you
can also insert a special character directly into a document without using
Character Map. To do so, open the document and position the insertion point
where you want the special character to appear. Then, with NUM LOCK on, hold
down the ALT key while using the number pad keys to type the Unicode
character value.
If you do this you can also bring up the OnScreen Keyboard (which will now
show a virtual <language of your choice> keyboard making it very easy) and
type in what you want with your mouse...
If you really need to push further than any other these suggestions you can
always resort to the
Private Character Editor
You can use Private Character Editor to create unique letters and logos for
your font library.
To open Private Character Editor, click Start, and then click Run. In the
Open box, type eudcedit.
