I have a document with 13 sections, each with 8 to 12 pages. I want to print it
with page numbers so that each section indicates the section number with Roman
numbers and each page with Arabic numbers starting with number "1" for each
section as follows: I-1...I-8; II-1...II-12; and on to XIII-1, etc.

Can some one help me with this problem, I haven't been abel to manage it after
working on the problem for a couple of days.

I hope this helps you.

In the footer,
click on 'Insert Field'
select Numbering from Categories
Select Section from Field names
Click on Options and select the formatting required (I II
III etc) and 'Add to Field'.
click on OK and OK again.

this will take you back to your footer, insert the space
and hypen and then:
click on 'Insert Field'
select Numbering from Categories
Select Page from Field names
Click on Options and select the formatting required (1, 2,
3 etc) and 'Add to Field'. (This will display a message
advising that this won't change the default page number
format.)
click on OK and OK again.

When you have the field codes showing the field should look
like the following:

{SECTION \* ROMAN \*MERGEFORMAT} - {PAGE \*
Arabic \*MERGEFORMAT}

I hope this helps you.
