As you have Publisher, chances are you have Excel too. You need to use this
to create a number list - which itself is child's play. (You could use the
same technique for Word)
In cell A1 enter Ticket_number
In cell A2, put the first number of the ticket sequence. You can even
include letters eg ABC123.
In the cell A3 put the second number in the sequence e.g. ABC124
Select the two number cells, and drag the handle at bottom right down the
column to produce as many new cells as ticket numbers. Save the Excel file
and close Excel
In Publisher, Mail Merge > Open Data Source > Merge Information From Another
Type Of File > Pick the filename of the Excel file. Confirm you want to use
the first row as field name and on the prompt for the sheet number enter
sheet1. Add the field to your ticket merge print.

1. Create one page of tickets as a mail merge main document.
2. Create a data source in Excel, using AutoFill to drag and fill cells with
as many ticket numbers as you need. Excel is well suited for this because it
will imitate whatever number format you begin with.
3. Insert the ticket number as a merge field referring to the Excel data
table.
4. Run the merge (to new document, NOT the printer!).
Alternatively, you could use a SEQ field for the ticket numbers, but you'd
have to copy/paste as many pages as needed to get the required number of
tickets.
