Inserting Contacts in word with drop down boxes

Is there some way to insert a contact name and fax number from your outlook
address book into a document?

If you are using WD97, you need to add the Insert Address command to your
toolbar. Go to Tools, Customize, select the Insert Category, then locate the
Address Book command and drag it up to a toolbar.
When you click on it the Contact folder should be one of the items in the
"Show Names from the" box. If Contacts does not appear, go to Outlook and
check Tools, Services. Make sure "Outlook Address Book" is one of your
services, and Add if it is not. Then right-click on the Contact folder and
go to the Address Book tab. Check "Show this folder as an e-mail address
book"
At some point you will have to restart Outlook (I think after adding the
service). Good luck!

Hi Andrea,

I have followed your instructions, but I am not sure that the result I am
getting is what is intended by this command. When I click on this button, I
get the address book from Outlook 98, but when I double click on a name, all
that happens is that the name is copied to the Word document, but nothing
else. Am I missing something?

Hi Fuad,

Andrea seems to be busy :-) You can change how the information is being passed
to Word by defining a special AutoText entry. Instructions can be ordered by
putting Q134901 in the subject line of an e-mail and sending it to
MSH...@microsoft.com
