Does anyone know why it is no longer possible to rotate a
text box or frame in Word 2002? It used to be possible in
previous versions, but if I select any text box and choose
format, the size tab in the dialogue box shows the rotate
option, but it's greyed out.

Any help on this appreciated!

You could never rotate a text box in Word. PowerPoint yes, Word, no. You
can roate text in a table cell 90 degrees, or you can do the text box in
PowerPoint and Paste Special as picture into Word. See also:

As Steve says, it's never been possible to rotate a text box. Perhaps you're
looking for the Format | Text Direction command, which can rotate the text
in the box 90 degrees right or left.
