Is there a way to exclude images in a Word 2000 document from being printed?
With these graphics I want to create an on-screen "preview" of the
pre-printed sationary we are using.
Thanks for any input.

Depends.
1) Are these images in-line with the text? Or could they be put in a Frame
(Forms toolbar) so that you can use very basic text flow, if that's what you
need? If yes, then you can use the "Hidden" font formatting, displaying hidden
text on-screen, but not printing it.

2) If the images must be "floating", are they the only graphical elements
being used? If yes, turn off the printing of Drawing objects in
Tools/Options/Print

If neither 1 or 2 are suitable, then you're left with using VBA to identify
and delete or substitute the graphics before printing...

If the graphics are "floating" (in the drawing layer), they will not be
printed if you clear the check box for "Drawing objects" on the Print tab of
Tools | Options. Be aware, though, that they will not be displayed in Print
Preview, AND that this setting will also affect drawing objects, text boxes,
and anything else in the drawing layer.
