OK Folks Help Please

Looking for a way to link Visio drawings into a word document OK easy so
far, but I want to rotate the drawings which are produced in landscape
format, 90 degrees so that they are displayed "landscape" in a "portrait
word document. Hope that makes sense.

Secondly I'd like to get the drawings to auto caption with the caption
to include the filename of the link i.e. something like

Fig 2 Drawing 1.vsd

Even better if I could somehow automatically remove the visio vsd
extension. Is this possible?

Thanx

Unless you rotate the drawings in Visio, the only way to do this in Word is
to put the drawings in a separate section with landscape orientation. That
is, you insert a Next Page section break before and after the drawing, and,
on the Paper Size tab of Page Setup, select Landscape orientation for that
section only. For more on how to get portrait headers/footers on a landscape
page, see http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/General/LandscapeSection.htm

You can rotate the Visio drawing from Word but not while it's still linked to
Word from Visio as an objectt. You're seeing the source programs representation
so rotate it there with the Action toolbar will change the rotation in
Word when the field is next updated.

You can break the connection to the Visio source and rotate the
Visio drawing in Word. -

1. Insert your Visio Object in the Document in Word 2000.
2 .Copy it to the clipboard.
3. Edit=>Paste Special and choose Picture (Enhanced Metafile).
4. Select the graphic and on the Drawing Toolbar use Draw=>ungroup
followe by Draw=>Group.
5. You can then use Draw=>Rotate or Flip.
