Please tell me how to insert small numbers- for instance
when you want to write 10 to the power of 10 in numerical
form.

Type the number and following text, select the number and press Ctrl+Plus
Sign (Ctrl+Shift+=) or Format | Font | Superscript. You can also press
Ctrl++ before typing the number and again afterward (which toggles
Superscript off).

John,

Position your cursor where you want to insert the text.

These forms are referred to as Superscript, and Subscript.
Superscript inserts the character a little smaller and
above the character, whereas Subscript a little below and
smaller.

Access by clicking...

Font: and select either the Superscript or Subscript
checkbox.

Superscript numerals other than 2 and 3 are found only in "large" fonts such
as Arial Unicode MS.
