The dots are probably paragraph borders. Select the six paragraphs, and then
click the "None" option on the Borders tab of the Borders and Shading dialog
box. (Try this even if the "None" option already appears to be selected.)
To open the Borders and Shading dialog box, click Format | Borders and Shading
(Word 97-2003); if you are using Word 2007 or 2010, click the arrow on the
border button in the Paragraph group of the Home tab, and then click Borders and
Shading.
