I created a list style which appears on the multilevel list button drop-down
in the List styles group. I can delete the style from the document via
managing styles but how do I remove it from the drop-down?

Once the list style has been deleted in the Organizer dialog box, it should
no longer be accessible from Home tab | Multilevel List either. Have you
tried restarting Word?

On the other hand, if you aren't referring to list styles but to a modified
numbering scheme added to the List Library, you should be able to
right-click it and use the Remove from List Library option.

Stefan,
It does not show in the list library. When I close Word and reopen it to a
new blank document my generated List Style shows in List Style section below
the list library.
I closed Word and deleted Normal.dotm. Opened word and problem gone.
Thanks for replying.

Since deleting normal.dotm helped, the style must have been saved to the
Normal template as well. If a style is saved to a template, you must delete
the style in the template to get rid of it completely.
