Bullets becoming non-Bullets

If I choose the para tag "ListBullet1" and enter some series of bulleted
text, all is fine.

If I then hit "Enter" twice, the bullet goes away, but the para tag in the
pull-down still says ListBullet1, except there is no bullet.
Since the para tag has the auto-update attribute, the next time I apply
ListBullet1, I get a para with no bullets.
And all the previously applied ListBullet1 tags chage to no bullets.
Comments, Suggestions???

Most likely you have the automatically update flag set in format > style,
and you have the formatting options set in 'autoformat while you type'.
Switch these off and then re-format the style to include the bullet pattern
you require.
