I can't find the PI symbol in Word 2000 (it's two vertical
lines with a horizontal squigly line on top). Anyone know
where I can find it in symbols?

Thanks.

Hi, Wendy,

There are actually several ways to get that character... Quickest is
probably to type a lower-case p and format it in Symbol font.

Another way is to open the Insert/Symbol dialog, set the Subset pulldown
to "Basic Greek", and select the pi from the alphabet -- it's between
the omicron (looks like a lower-case o) and the rho (looks like a
lower-case p). If you don't see a Subset pulldown, or if it doesn't
contain a "Basic Greek" subset, switch the Font pulldown to another
font.

If you need this often, set up an AutoCorrect entry to change the word
"pi" into the symbol.

Hi Wendy:

1- Insert|Symbol
2- On the "Symbols" tab, select font "Symbol" from the Font list
3- Pi is in the third row down from the top, 4th character from the right
