Is there a simple way to have Word 2000 number every 5th
line (5, 10, 15 etc.) of a document, particularly poetry?
As an English teacher, I give my students lots of such
hand-outs and numbering them is a pain when done manually.

Thanks,
Roger

Hi, Roger,

In the File/Page Setup dialog, on the Layout tab, click the Line Numbers
button. Check the box for "Add line numbering" and then set the "Count by"
box to 5.

Hi

You could record a macro but would need to have hotkeys
for each 5,10,etc

or make a new template it depends if a you mind having a
10 line poem but the rest of the document has
15,20,....max poem size down the side

excel is (maybe) another possibility

Theres probably a few other ways (easier/better ones
kowing my knowledge) too.

im sure someone will help
