I copied and pasted something to Word. Some of it was double spaced.
When I click on enter it makes a double space. So I go to
format/paragraph/line spacing. It's set to single. But enter makes
a double space.

Please advise how to get single spacing.

Is paragraph spacing set to something else than zero? In the
Format>Paragraph dialog box, click the Indents and Spacing tab,
and make sure that both "Before" and "After" under "Spacing" read
"0 pt".

Also make sure that in File > Page Setup, on the Layout tab, the
"Vertical alignment" is set to "Top", rather than "Justified",
which will modify spacing between paragraphs.

Try hi-lighting the text and than doing CTRL 0 (zero).

Note that CTRL+0 deals with spacing before paragraphs only. It is
possible that spacing after is also set -- see my previous
response.

Also note that CTRL+0 acts as a toggle: it either sets spacing
before to 12 pt or to 0 pt.
