how to retrieve previous saved version of document

instead of clicking 'save as'i clicked, save, and replaced
an older version of my document. i need the first version
as well as the new one. can anyone tell me how to retrieve
the earlier version of this document?

If you have "Always create backup copy" enabled (Save tab of Tools |
Options), then you should find the previous version as "Backup of
<filename>.wbk" (you'll have to display "All Files" to see it). Otherwise,
it's pretty much just gone.
