I'm trying to create labels from an Excel file that have
unique charts for each label. Does anyone know how to do
this? I tried approaching it from Word and linking a data
table to the Excel file and I've tried creating the charts
in Excel and including them in the merge but I've had no
luck.

Hi Megan,

If the charts are already present in Excel, then:

1) Add a column to the data source for the chart's unique
name (if it's on its own sheet, this will be the sheet name;
if these are objects on worksheets, you may need VBA to get
the object names)

2) Select any chart and Edit/Copy (as picture)

3) In Word, Edit/Paste Special with a link

4) In Word, Alt+F9 to view the field codes. Word should have
used a LINK or DDEAuto field (for a picture) to create the
link. Look for the chart designation/name.

5) Replace this with the mergefield the carries the chart
name.

6) At this point, what you may or may not do with impunity
depends on the version of Word you have. but safest is to
immediately execute the merge to a new document. In the new
document

7) Ctrl+A, F9 to force the fields to update

8) Alt+F9 to view the result
