Unicode font under mailmerge

Dear newsgroup,

I have been trying the following under both Office 97 and 2000:

Using unicode font allows me to maintain data in Excel with national
characters such as Danish and Polish etc., both Excel and Word supports
this. But during merging data from Excel only some national characters
are replaced with others.

Living in Europe, I feel sorry not to be able to spell names etc.
correctly with national characters.

Is there any work around ?

Does it work if you copy/paste the Excel table into Word, then merge to
that?

Thanks Cindy,

Copy and paste from Excel to Word is transferring correctly. I think the
reason might be using systemfont somewhere during process of transferring
data in mailmerge.

Or mail merge may not be supporting Unicode correctly. I'm beta testing
Office 10 right now, and I'd like to see if the problem still exists. Would
you mind sending me a (small) extract of your Excel data with a number of
these characters in it?
