Friends,

Greetings. I am using Microsoft Word 2004 for Mac, Version 11.2. I'm
using Mac OS X Version 10.4.

I am trying to cross-reference a footnote to another footnote. For
instance, let's say I want footnote 148 to say, "See footnote 143."
HOWEVER, if I add two footnotes BEFORE 143, then 143 becomes 145.
However, my cross-reference doesn't change. And although "Help" says I
can update the field, there IS no field. My table of contents, index,
illustration captions, etc. are all working. Why can't I get the
footnotes to update in the same way?
