I am using Works XP with Word XP.

My native language is English-US.

I am learning Spanish (Spain-Modern or Traditional) and
need spell, grammer and thesaurus.

From my Works cd I installed the Word Language update for
that language.

I closed Word after installation. Now when I open a
document and type in Spanish it tries to spell check it in
English.

It seems that every time I try to spell check I have to
change it every time it comes upon a new word. Is there a
way to make the language current for the duration of
editing the document, over multiple sessions?

Thank you.

If you are using an English keyboard layout then Word
will assume the document you are writing is in English.

To set the language, go to Tools>Language>Set Language
when starting a document, or after highlighting existing
text.

If 'detect language automatically' is selected here, then
Word will try to work out what language you are writing
in.
