slow pasting of text

Hi!

I'm working on a big document (300+ pages / 6 Mb) in Microsoft Word 2002 and
experience a painfully slow pasting of text and tables. It doesn't matter
if I copy/paste just a string like "hello" or a big table - it takes 5
seconds or more for the paste command to insert the text.
If I start a new document from scratch and do copy/paste this is not a
problem.

Has anyone got around this problem in large Word documents, please?

I have 512Mb RAM (and plenty left when I run Word) and a 2 GHz Intel
processor, so that shouldn't be any problem.

Any tips are welcome!

Try to: select all and copy it to a blank document. Save
this one and look if the file size is reduced. If so, your
word document is corrupt.
