When typing in fourths such as 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4, word
automatically changes to the smaller version of the
fraction. I can't find a way to make it do the same if
the fraction is in increments of thirds such as 1/3, 2/3
and such. Is there a way this can be done?

Word does this automatically for the most used fractions but not all
fractions. The setting is in Tools, Auto Correct, Auto Format as you Type
(in Word 97). I think you would need to change the font to superscript for
the numerator and subscript for the denominator (I think those terms are
correct) and then save this as an Auto Correct entry in place of the typed
"1/3" character. Then when you type "1/3" Auto Correct will change it to
the saved entry that you created. Make sure that you choose Formatted Text
after you highlight the super- and subscripted characters to place them into
the Auto Correct box. That way, the formatting you applied to those
characters will also be applied to the Auto Correct entry.

Alice.

Also, we have a tutorial on our web site that discusses adding
objects (such as equations and Word drawings) to AutoCorrect.
From the link in my signature, click on Tutorials in the
navigation menu on the left side of the page.
