I'm using the equation editor that comes with Word 2000 and I need to insert
the standard deviation symbol in a formula.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Any help appreciated.
Henry
What symbol do you usually use for standard deviation ?!
Normally I just use s in italics because I was taught that this
is the appropriate symbol when the true mean is unknown.
Otherwise I'd use the lowercase greek 'sigma' (top row of
buttons, second in from the right > second row of characters
from the bottom, on the left). I've also heard of captiol
'delta' being used (top row of buttons, on the right > top row
of symbols on the right).
hope this helps
