how to paste the .bmp files in document library

In a template (document library) word file i'm unable to paste the .bmp
file.. Though it's get pasted unable to see it properly

What do you mean by properly. If in place of the image you see the outline
of the picture, you need to uncheck the Show Picture Placeholders. In
versions of Word before 2007, look under Tools>Options>View; In Word 2007,
look under Word Options>Advanced>Show document content.
