Had a document in compatibility mode and Picture Styles was absent. Reveiwed
forum and was advised to convert to .docx format. Completed, however,
Picture Styles is still missing. To be sure, created a new document and same
thing occurs although the document compatibliy option shows it's being
created in Word 2007. Also, found an older file though where the Picture
Styles is working?

Can anyone please advise how to fix the problem? Thanks.

Hi Riverfree,

In Word 2007 Picture styles aren't available if you have a document in .doc format or if you saved to .docX/.docM and when resaving
you didn't turn off the 'Maintain compatibility with Word 97-2003'
check box in the 'Save As' dialog.

Check for Office Button=>Convert with the document open to see if that turns the Word 2007 feature set back on. If so, and you're
seeing this on new documents it's possible that your Normal.dotM (default Word template) was also saved with the 'Maintain
compatibility...' setting turned on.

Also check the default save format in
Office Button=>Word Options=>Save
