I'm having to update a series of bar graphs with 2008 data and when I update
the data, if the number is higher than the previous highest number, the top
of the bar gets cut off. When I try to resize the entire graph, plot area or
anything else, it still stays cut off and just scales.

How can I get the new data to fit the current chart size?

Try changing the scale range to a higher number. The default is "automatic,"
but you can specify a range. Do this by right-clicking in the number area
and choosing Format Axis. Then, on the Scale tab, set the Maximum to a
higher number.

I thought that's what the problem was, but I can't find any scale options for
the height.

This is what I'm seeing when I bring the Axis dialog up:

I'm confused.

It would appear that you clicked in the category (X) axis rather than the
value (Y) axis. Since it would appear that your Y axis isn't displayed,
you'll have to try just right-clicking on the left side of the chart until
you hit the place where the axis would be, then use Format Axis.

I was trying that when I stumbled across something: I actually had the entire
Y-axis display turned off. Once I turned it back on, I was able to fix the
scale problem.

Thanks for your help!
