I am typing a report in Word and need to have text within hexagon shapes. I
have placed the shape over the number and chose "no fill" so the text would
show through. Numbers 1 - 9 work out fine but when I start at 10, the number
isn't centered in the shape. Is there a better way to do this operation?

If you have created the hexagon as an AutoShape, you can add the text
directly in the shape – you do not need a separate text. Right-click in the
hexagon and select “Add Text”. You can format the text as desired – and you
can align the text center.
