Hi

I am trying to work with a screen shot ive made. I have
made a screen shot and pasted it into a word document as a
jpeg file. I now need to draw arrows over the image to
point and make references. However when I open the Drawing
toolbar and click on arrow line word creates a drawing
area in which to draw the arrows, and whenever I try to
draw an arrow over the image it doesnt work.

Anyway around this? How can I draw lines over and pointing
to parts within an images inserted into a doc?

Thanks
Ryan

I believe you are r eferring to the drawing canvas. Its use is explained in
Windows help under "Arranging, aligning, and distributing graphics". You
can turn it off from tools > options > general if you don't need it.
(paraphrased from Graham Mayor).

The drawing area is the 'drawing canvas' which keeps elements together. It
shouldn't preclude the ability to draw over an image. You can turn off the
canvas from tools > options > general, but I am not convinced this will
help.

The best tool for this job is Snag-it from www.techsmith.com which has
impressive tools for annotating screen shots.
