I am having problems witn moving pictures around in XP
Office Word. In 97 word I am able to move the picture
after insertion by clicking on the center. In XP the
picture inserts but not able to move it. Am I missing a
setup?

Click on the picture to display the Picture toolbar. Click on the Text
Wrapping button (dog icon) and select any wrapping other than "In Line with
Text." Word 2000 and 2002 by default insert and paste graphics inline, so
that they behave like font characters. In Word 2002 you can change the
default wrapping for inserted/pasted objects (Edit tab of Tools | Options).
Unfortunately, this selection does not apply to Paste Special, which always
pastes floating. <sigh>
