When typing only have of the word shows

Hi this is an odd predicatment I am in, but when I type something in word
have of the letter shows and I dont know why? Example if you type a D you
only see half the D not the entire letter, can anyone help??

Check the line spacing and make sure it is set to (at least) single. Or if
the line spacing is set to an exact size, make sure it is at least the type
size.
