Without wanting to encourage you, I will suggest that your search will be
more successful if you correctly spell "plagiarism."

Google has 145000 hits for 'plagerism' -- perhaps it has to do with
behaviour on French beaches.

Perhaps so, but at least Google has the sense to ask you, "Did you mean:
plagiarism?" And most of the 145,000 hits it returns actually seem to use
the spelling "plagiarism."

Discouragingly, however, there seem to be a number of sites with "plagerism"
in the URL. <sigh> Most depressing of all, the #1 hit is a page of
"Anti-Plagerism Resources" posted by "Aprille Black (librarian at Greensboro
Day School)." This despite the fact that "plagiarism" is correctly spelled
elsewhere on the page.
The #2 hit (a page at the Pennsylvanis State University site) says, "Passing
off someone's work as your own is known as plagerism. Individuals who
plagiarize material deliberately are committing an illegal act." Apparently
the author of this site didn't even notice the spelling of the chunk he
stole from another site.

I looked at that second one also: do you think there is any truth in his CV?

Too much time in the sun at la plage, perhaps?

You mean his "resume'"? I see no reason to doubt it. I'd be happier if he
knew how to spell "résumé," but I'm sure someone can know a lot about
biology without being a good speller (or having any concept of Web design).
And notice that he has an M.Ed. rather than an M.S.
