Need to remove paragraph symbol in Word!

This is the second time this default has occurred...the paragraph symbol is
scattered throughout my paper. How do I remove it? I can't remember how I
fixed it the last time. Help!

Click on the Show/Hide button that looks like a paragraph symbol ś, or from
the Tools menu, select Options, then go to the View tab and uncheck the
relevant items in the Formatting marks section of the dialog.
