Hi All,

Let me get straight to the question....
If I have 3 documents that claimed to be created in different WORD version,
i.e. file1 created in 2000, file2 created in 2002, and file3 created in 2003.
Is there any way of find out which version of WORD that those files were
created on?
I went to properties of the documents which don't do much help.

Any help will me muchly appreciated. cheers

In Word 2003, using the Properties view in the File | Open dialog, you can
select files created in previous versions and see the version (Word 2003
will be labeled "Microsoft Office Word"), up to a point--some of the
earliest file formats didn't store this information. In a single folder I
have Microsoft Word 8.0, Microsoft Word 10.0, and so on. Interestingly, I
have some very old docs that will display "Microsoft Word 6.0" and some
later ones that will say "No properties are available for this file."
