Please don't type in all caps. All lower case is much preferable if the caps
key is that hard for you to use.

Version of Word?

Secured how? Against what?

i secured a document, sent it to my recipient, gave him the password, but he
says it does not ask for a password and he can't open it either way??? i
secured the document so that only he could have access to it. i have
microsoft word xp. thing is i've secured documents before and haven't had
problems with the recipients opening them up??? i just want to know how i
can undo the security on a secured document. Also, when i go into the
secured document i have no problems in entering the password and opening it
up...could the problem is with my recipient???any info will be helpful...and
i thank you charles kenyon for your reply/help...

Secured how? Password to open? Does your recipient have the same (or a
later) version of Word as you do? Password security on Word documents has
changed between versions.

i sent a document and secured it with a password, gave the password to my
recipient so that once he got the secured document via email he could open it
up. as far as he having the same version of word i don't know...i guess i
would need to find that out first then? fyi...document was forwarded to him
via email.

Word documents are mistreated by some email systems. Another approach for
what you are currently doing is to zip the file and apply the password to
the zip file, not the Word document. ZIPd Word documents are less prone to
email corruption.
