1) Format>Font>check Superscript
2) Tools>Customize>Commands tab>Category: Format>Command: Superscript>Click
and drag Superscript command to a toolbar of your choice>Close; now just
click the button to toggle superscript font formatting on and off.

If I'd had to guess, I would guess Ctrl++ was for GrowFont, but I tend to
use keyboard shortcuts mostly for macros and styles. Probably because I do
more reformatting of other people's messes than actual typing.
