A printer wants me to size my business card template to 3.54" X 2.05". Two
problems I have are 1) that the Word Ruler is not finite enough to get down
to hundredths of an inch, and 2) the "box" doesn't adjust to smaller
gradations to allow me to get to 2.05" for example. Does anybody have any
suggestions? I have access to Word 2003 and Word 2007. Thanks.

Word 2007 does a much nicer job of resizing the "box" for the template. Still
looking for a way for the ruler to show finer gradations - like a real
engineering ruler would. Tx.

Have you asked the printer why he wants this? I can understand creating
something larger in order to reduce it for finer resolution (though that's
rarely necessary if it's printed at 1200 dpi or sent to the printer as a
PDF), but this slight increase seems bizarre.

I may be missing something here, but if the 'box' on your template is (say)
a text box then you don't need the ruler. Select the box and in its
properties type the two measurements in the size boxes. The ruler's
indications are hardly relevant.
