What do you mean by 'it is now saved as a Word .doc'? My guess is that it
has a doc filename extension, but it is still a Word Perfect document. You
will need access to a copy of Word Perfect in order to remove the password
before it can be opened in Word. Whether you buy the software or find
someone who has it to open it for you is something I cannot advise upon. I
believe there is a Word Perfect trial available, in the absence of a friend
who uses WP.
