When I opened Microsoft Word to start a new document my MenuBar & Toolbar are
both missing. How do I get them back?

Try Right-Clicking where the Menu Bar should be. then choose the Toolbars you
want from the list provided. You'll probably want Standard and Formatting, at
least. If Menu Bar is a choice, choose that as well.

This is due to just a little corruption in the Registry. This article
