Hi,

I have several users tracking changes in a word document. All users are
on 2003, with settings to assign color by author. One user sees changes
with each author as a different color. The other two users see all the
changes as the same color, however when you hover over the the change
the correct user is identified as making the change. I am using Office
2007 and can also see changes by color.

Are there any security or other settings that could prevent changes from
being tracked by color, even though different authors are identified?

Thanks in advance.

On each of the errant computers, is it set to show "color by author"?
(That goes by computer rather than by document.)

As Peter points out, the color settings are machine-specific. The users who
are seeing only one color evidently have that color selected in the Track
Changes Options instead of "By Author."

Oops! Thank you for moving my post to the correct forum!

I did confirm that the machines are set to "By Author". So,
unfortunatley, I don't think that is the issue.

Did you make sure to change *all* of the color options (in the dialog box) to
"By author"?
