I am trying to convert a word file into excel and want to keep the original
formating. I have been able to convert to .txt file, but the formating is
lost. Please help. Thank you.

Are you trying to move a table from Word to Excel? I'm not sure how you can
convert a text document to a spreadsheet document... or why you would want
to. If it is a table, you could copy the table and paste it into Excel.
Otherwise, I doubt you can convert it.
