Hi
I'm having a bad day with symbols.

I just can't work out how to type the two mathematical symbols which mean
'more than' and 'less than' (like a 'V' on it's side pointing right or left
as the case may be)

In 'insert special characters' , there are the symbols for 'equal to or more
than' and 'equal to or less than' (like a 'V' on it's side but underlined)
but this is not what I want.

I'm doubly surprised at being stuck on this cos I know that these symbols
are often used when writing macros in Word but even a short foray in Visual
Basic hasn't helped.

Thanks in advance

Dave Neve

Hi Dave,

They are on your keyboard above the comma and period, no?

All the best,

Is there something wrong with the < and > from the keyboard (Shift comma and
Shift period)?

These are ordinary ASCII characters so don't count as special characters. If
they don't look right alongside other symbols you are using, try changing
the font.

Hi
I have a French keyboard and it is not the same.

Having said that, I have managed to locate them on the same key near the
bottom left hand corner of the keyboard.

Thanks

Glad you found them ;-)

Probably also worth remembering (especially if swapping around between
keyboard layouts ) that the other tab on the Symbol dialog lets you browse
all the characters in each font. May take some time initially, but you can
usually find what you want there, and also identify its code.
