How do I take those paragraph symbols off in Word?

I was writing a Word document, and then I looked up and saw paragraph symbols
whenever I hit "return", and dots when I clicked the space bar. What do I do
to get rid of them?

Go to Tools >> Options. Then under the View tab and Formatting marks,
deselect Tab characters, Spaces and Paragraph marks.

Or click the pilcrow button ś on the toolbar
or press CTRL+* (CTRL+SHIFT+8)
