How do I type exponents in a word document

I am trying to type a mathematical equation - ow do I type a to the 10th
power in a word document?

You want 'Format > Font > Superscript'

I use a shortcut. If you type a, then hold down Ctrl plus Shift and press
the =/+ key, superscript is toggled on and you type the exponent. Ctrl plus
Shift plus + toggles back to your regular font after entering the exponent.
