What I am trying to represent is
X * [ stuff ]
stuff = (1 + i)n - 1 / i
I am trying to create brackets around the 'stuff' formula (it is the future
value of an ordinary annuity) . I would like the n is really 'squared' and I
would like the (1 + i)n -1 on top and the divided by on the botton (not side
by side), but I cannot figure out what to select to do this. Creating the
brackets first does not allow me to use the font to make superscripts for the
squared.
I hope this make sense.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Diane
X[((1+i)^n-1)/i]
Then use the little arrow to the right and select "Professional". This
should switch your layout to the notation you are looking for.
Do not try to set parts of your equation as super- or subscript using the
font settings. Use the 'script' functionality of the equation editor
instead.
