In word2000, I have a document from a friend that will not let me delete text. The text is not protected, tracking changes is not on, and no wordperfect stuff is checked. I cannot delete, cut, backspace text. When I do, it simply strikesthrough the text with a line. Any ideas?

Hi Brett

It certainly sounds as if TrackChanges is on. Is TRK in the status bar
dark? If so double-click it to turn off track changes.

You will also need to accept all the changes you have made in the
document. To do that, Tools > Track Changes > Accept or Reject Changes.

Then save your document.

Hope this helps.
