How do I change my space bar from deleting text to moving text

I have 5 pages of transciption that I need to touch up, but no when I go to
change some spelling, it just types through the words and erases the words
after them. Before, it just pushed the words forward, so I wouldn't have to
re-type the whole paragraph over. I'm sure it's just a format button I have
to chose. Please help.

On your keyboard, you probably just hit the "Insert" button accidentally. Hit
the "Insert" button again and see if it solves your problem.
