I merged an amount field from excel. My problem is that I can format the
fields to decimal places automatically.

So $25.00 show as $25 which is no problem but $25.50 shows as $25.5.

In Word 2002 and 2003, the default connection method is OLEDB, which does
not preserve number formatting. There are two approaches you can take:

1. You can connect via DDE (check Tools | Options | General: Confirm
conversion at Open to be given a choice).

2. You can apply a numeric picture switch to the merge field. See
