Hi Dino-

What you are referrin gto is Optical Character Recognition Software, or OCR
software for short. This is something which works with your scanning device
to interpret the material being scanned as Text rather than as an Image.

Your scanner may have come with some type of OCR s/w, so check first to see
if that is the case. If not, you will need to invest in an OCR program (such
as TextBridge, OmniPage, etc.). Be sure to confirm compatibility with your
scanner & OS before you buy.

With the right software you will be able to scan documents as editable text.
