I have a jpg that I am inserting shapes. When I crtl+A, crtl+C and then
paste it copies and pastes everything into the new document. A coworker
cannot do the same thing. He only gets the original jpg without any of the
shapes. What causes this? Thanks.

say it again: you are inserting Shapes into a JPEG, setting the JPEG as
a background to a shape, or what?

Is he copying from the very same document? Just making sure that his
shapes are not, say, in the header or footer area.

If that's ruled out, I'd check his paste options. What are the shapes
anchored to?
